How to Transfer Small Devices into a Glovebox?
For transferring small laboratory devices, the most efficient method is using the glovebox's antechamber (airlock). The antechamber is an isolated compartment designed to safely introduce items from the external environment into the glovebox without compromising the inert atmosphere of the main chamber.
Procedure:
Place the device inside the antechamber.
Securely close the outer door.
Perform three cycles of “Evacuation” and “Refilling”, ensuring the antechamber's atmosphere matches the glovebox interior.
Open the inner door of the antechamber.
Transfer the device into the main chamber of the glovebox.
Close the inner door.
If a significant rise in oxygen or moisture levels occurs inside the glovebox following the transfer (for future transfers, consider extending the evacuation duration and increasing the number of cycles), initiate a purging process to reduce the levels to at least 100 ppm, ideally 50 ppm or lower, before reactivating the circulation system.
